A grandfather pushes a bicycle through a graveled path, he carrying a few things. A friendly smile is given to us accompanied by the words of Assalamu'alaikum (peace be upon you), the greeting uttered by the road user to others. A tradition that still survives in rural Acehnese society. He represented a friendly portrait of Acehnese.
I was there with @ejhaasteem and @johnrenald, in Lhoknga, Aceh Besar, a settlement in the foothills of the Bukit Barisan or the Barisan Mountains.
I shot some pictures as he passed by us. A moment later, he parked the bike as he lowered some items. After observing his behavior, apparently the goods were fishing equipment, around there he had a small hut as a base near the tributary.
After a long wait, no visible signs he will fish. Haha ... it turns out he will just catch the fish at night, after getting certainty we go home when twilight.
