Ruby Beach Washington

Rain in the Pacific Northwest

These photos are from a quick visit to Ruby Beach this spring. It is located just off of Highway 101 in the Olympic Peninsula. Instead of visiting somewhere warm for spring break, @homespun and I took off for the Olympic Pensinsula. Following a quiet night in Neah Bay, we headed south to visit the Hoh National Rainforest (see post). After a few hours hiking in the rain, we dried off as good as possible and hit the road again, heading south to Ocean Shores.

On the way south we stopped in at Ruby Beach as seen below. It was raining or drizzling while we were here, and ended up raining the rest of the day and the following day as well. The beach is really photogenic with all of the washed up driftwood and nearby sea stacks. I can imagine it is really stunning in the right light conditions.
