The airport Tempelhof is closed now for the last few years. It is a large area still in the inner ring of the city. No wonder that it attracted many investors when it was closed down. In a public election the citizens of Berlin ruled that the site should not be built over with offices and flats, but to maintain the space for the people.
The fence separates the public area from the airport building itself.
People are jogging on the old runways.
The site is mainly used for recreational activities and exercises.
