I love vegetable. So why I chose boiled spinach in menu list when I visited Midori restaurant at Jalan Pajajaran, Bogor City, West Java. This is a Japanese restaurant and it treated vegetable like spinach in Japanese way.
The chef added dried shrimp on it. Dried shrimp was common in Asian cuisine. Indonesian people called it "udang kering" or "ebi".
This is "spinach" explanation in Concise Oxford Dictionary :
spinach
n an edible Asian plant of the goosefoot family, with large dark green leaves which are eaten as a vegetable. [Spinacia oleracea.]
— DERIVATIVES spinachy adj.
— ORIGIN ME: prob. from OFr. espinache, via Arab. from Pers.
