Sunken Gardens is city park that was once a garden owned by George Turner Sr. He allowed people to visit and charged a small fee. It was one of the most famous tourist attractions in the state of Florida.
Being a garden it is the home of beautiful plants and flowers.
Florida is a semi-tropical climate. That means that in my area it gets down to freezing in the winter. And up to the 90 degree range in the summer. And high humidity. So we have some tropical plants and some temperate zone plants too. If they can survive the heat and very brief freezes they can grow here. Sunken Gardens has palm trees growing among oaks and bamboo. Different kinds of foliage and flowers. Ponds with Koi. Flamingos and parrots. It is a delight for a photographer looking for shapes, textures , and colors to capture for an image. No grand vistas like mountain ranges or ocean views. You have to look close and see the small miracles. Even if you are not a visual artist there are masterpieces all around if you will
just open your eyes and really see.
