Food Is Definitely Art! But Is The Beauty An Indicator Of Its Taste?

After I took these photos, I began to ponder a few things..... Whoever baked these beautiful desserts must have tremendous artistic skill.... But does that mean they would have tasted as delicious as they looked?

I didn't end up buying any of these delicious looking delicacies but I can say this...

I have eaten some desserts that were quite impressive took look at but didn't necessarily have any more flavor than a simple looking cake made at home.

All of this got me to thinking about the bigger picture. Perhaps the dazzling things we may see in life are not always going to add any extra sweetness or flavor to your life. Sometimes simplicity can offer an even greater satisfaction.

Life is filled with illusions and that's something we should consider when we think about the deeper meaning of it all. Is that fancy car really going to be any better than the reliable car I already have? Is eating alone in that 5 star restaurant going to be more special than sharing a meal with loved ones at a picnic table or casual cafe?

Don't get me wrong... I'm not here to say that the finer things in life are wrong to enjoy or experience. Rather, I wish to point out that that they may not guarantee you happiness or lasting contentment, simply based upon its aesthetic appeal.

Life is meant to be enjoyed and lived to the fullest and not to be wasted on pursuits that won't bring us joy.

May we seek to fulfill all of our dreams, but while also realizing that inner peace of the journey can be just as sweet or even sweeter than the dazzling destination! Not only that, but who we spend it with is also what adds flavor to that journey, as well!
