Fungi, why dost thou compel me?

I used to like eating mushrooms, espescially baked mushrooms stuffed with seasoned breadcrumbs and olive oil, or even better with crab meat stuffing.

Then, a number of years ago, I got really sick from pizza with mushrooms. And to this day, I can't bring myself to eat them (i.e. mushrooms, not pizza). But yet I'm somehow compelled to stop and photograph them. Go figure!

This year, in the Northeast US, there seems to be more mushrooms/fungi than usual. Which seems weird because it's been a pretty dry summer.
