As I stood bleary and slumped at the rail of a 4 am ferry crossing, the sky slowly blazed to life.
I've never been more grateful in my life to be awake at such an ungodly hour. While other daily commuters slept in their vehicles below, I watched the sunrise set fire to the oil slick colors of the Rosario Strait.
Not one other person came up on deck. I stood in the breeze, closed my eyes, and let the cold ocean air and the first snatches of warmth brought by that brilliant orange hue wash over me.

I've promised myself — never lose that wonder. Never lose the ability to be floored by the beauty around us.
We're born with an incredible fascination; a tremendous sense of amazement. The more of the world I see, and the more I settle into an 'adult' life, the more I realise that these pure senses are some of the most powerful facets of human nature. Our ability to fill to bursting with appreciation for the allure of the bigger, wilder world around us will always make us better. So today, for #tuesdayorange #colorchallenge, I'm committing that promise to the chain.
Never stop seeking and appreciating, friends.
All of these photos are my own, taken on my travels all over this pretty blue marble of ours. I hope you like them.
