A Purple Garden is Happyness 【Flowers of Japan #3】

Some of the most beautiful flowers in any garden!

A bonus photo today. Er... well, this morning (it is slightly past midnight JST as I write this). This is my #smartphonephotography submission for @juliank 's daily contest.

I snapped this using Hipstamatic on my iPhone. If you have never used it before, Hipstamatic is an amazing camera app, with a variaty of filters emulating some classic film looks.

The flower here is known as ajisai in Japanese, better known in English as hydrangea. It comes in a few different colors, but this purple one is maybe the most common, at least around my city. The purple really contrasts well against the green of the leaves.

Don't miss the other great photos in the Flowers of Japan series!
