View of the Priel from Schiederweiher. picture: Florian Glechner
On May the 1st which tis a national holiday in Austria, i visited the Schiederweiher near Hinterstoder for some nature shots of the landscape. It is one of the most southern places in Upper Austria, and definitely worth a visit. The nature and the view to Großer Priel, that is the mountain near to Schiederweiher, is very amazing. Definitely worth a visit if you happen to visit Austria on a nice sunny day.
Beautiful day
It was a very nice and sunny day and so there where a lot of people visiting this beautiful piece of nature this day. But still I was able to shoot some nice pictures of it without people on the picture. Either because I used an angle where there is no one on the picture or because I used a ND-Filter (neutral densitiy filter) to prolong the exposure and clean the Scene from the people. Because of the nice weather there was very nice structure from the clouds in the blue sky.
Brigitte, Stefan and I went all around the lake and explored the nature around it. We found a lot of beautiful flowers but not animals, we even found a sign bewaring of grizzly bears and elks. Of course you can’t find them there but it was funny for us to encounter this here.

Lack of Macro Lens
Unfortunately I didn’t take a Macro lens with me because there where plenty of flowers wating to be documented. I tried my best using my 18-105mm lens. The water of the lake was very beautiful and cristall clear, but it was still to cold to give it a try for a swim. You could see till the ground of the lake nearly everywhere.
