A Short Hike To A View
Two and a half decades ago, my best friend and I carved out a trail system on the back of his parents property. One of these trails left the back edge of the orchard, cut through second growth Douglas Firs, turned into switchbacks on a steep loose shale cliff side and ended at this look out. 20 years later I purchased this same property from his parents and to my surprise the trail was not only still there but had been expanded and improved upon by his father and their neighbor. Today, my family and I get to enjoy a quick hike to this breathtaking view from the back end of the property that we are homesteading, along a trail who's foundation was laid by my friend and I 25+ years ago.
