boroboro - "worn-out, ragged, tattered, battered, scruffy"

I love Niigata City in the fall.

The days are a mix of slate skies gray and sun.

The air is cool.

The town is quiet.

And the buildings of this seaside town are charmingly beaten and weathered. I feel very cozy inside as I walk through these streets, dressed for the weather, and knowing that the season of nabe (a hot pot stew) is just around the corner.
