Exotic Bali

After Yogyakarta I took a flight to Bali. Bali is such a beautiful exotic place, so green, and full of flowers. There are beautiful trees, plants and flowers everywhere.

I checked in my room in Kuta, left my stuff, and went out for breakfast.

My hotel room

My coconut drink.

I was told the Pura Ulun Danu Bratan (Lake Temple), and the Besakih Temple are quite spectacular, so off I went.

Pura Ulun Danu Bratan Temple.

This temple was dedicated to water goddess Dewi Danu. You can read more about this temple at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pura_Ulun_Danu_Bratan.

There were a lot of wood carvings and stone sculptures, quite intricate ones. Unfortunately it rains often at that altitude, so most of my pictures came out dark. I did manage to get a couple of bright ones when the sun peeked out for a second.

Then quick lunch and off to Besakih Temple. This temple was huge, and full of people and tourists. It is the largest Hindu temple in Bali. You can read more about it at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pura_Besakih.

There were plants and flowers everywhere, obviously well maintained.

Well, that was a full day spent sightseeing. I went back to Kuta, had dinner, and packed up for Flores.
