Farm Update: Our First Dozen Quail Eggs! (All at once)

I'm both super excited with and super pleased with my quail, as they seem to be the main producers here on the farm as far as the birds are concerned. Their laying has picked up and it showed today when we got our first dozen eggs out of them!

We might also be getting lucky as far as quail are concerned because it seemed like a few of our birds were getting broody, meaning that they were sitting on eggs. Quails are notoriously known to not do this for the most part so it's hard to breed them without an incubator. We've considered importing silkie breed chickens because they'll sit on anything.

But there was a pile of eggs in the one corner with a quail on them yesterday and that quail was sitting in the same corner on an egg that it must have laid since I harvested it last night.

Start hoping for quail babies guys, they're the cutest.

And quails happen to be some of the pricier birds especially considering their size so it'd be nice to start producing them, not just the eggs and meat.
