Time for another magic moment. And what a moment it was as a storm rolled in over London while I was waiting for sunset at Westminster Bridge a few years ago.
The day had already been very unpredictable weather-wise. It was a mix of showers and sun, which usually bears great photographic potential. So I went to Westminster Bridge and positioned myself on the opposite side of the river Thames from the Houses of Parliament.
I had intentionally selected this position, because there was a bus stop just 50 meters down the street and this made it very easy to time my photo with the red busses driving into the frame. Using a slightly longer exposure I was able to introduce some motion blur to give the photo a bit more of an artistic feel.
But what made the photo that evening was the dramatic sky. Dark rain clouds moved in just for sunset and this created an awesome display of light. Just a minute after I took this photo I got drenched and had to run for cover. But it was so worth it.
