Photo Series #53: Simple Sunday Photography | A Message from Nature

Hello dear readers! How are you? Entry to #naturephotocontest and #simplesunday. A Message from Nature.

This past weekend I've been feeling a little bored and I don't know why. Steemit is going very well and I'm pretty happy with the good feedback I'm getting here and the great friends I'm making, so before anything else a big thank you all.

Please, don't judge my ability with a camera. To the other side judge the message my picture holds. I'll be glad If you comment and share your ideas.

A Message from Nature

I've decided today to pretend I'm a photographer; I took my point and shoot camera and wandered around my apartment trying to find something to play with. I found on my balcony our vase with some plants and I thought... let's see if I can photograph a water drop. And I did, or at least I think I did hahaha. I then came to my computer, opened it up and all the thoughts came to my mind. What was meant to be just a photo has became an idea and I thought I needed to share it, not just the photo but the message.

I've been thinking lately about a sustainable form of living. After all why do I need to live at an apartment that is so costy?

Thinking by the comfort side of life I only use my house to cook, bathroom and sleep, all the rest is waste... it's energy to power equipments that I'm not even using, or lights to enlighten rooms that I'm not in. Why do we use clean water to flush the toilet? Why my washing machine needs 3, 4, 5 steps? Why can't I re-use all this water?

Paying energy that comes from a thermal plant? Why can't I just generate my energy? Do I really need all this comfort?

I like to enjoy nature and everytime I see it more degraded, with trash and used in a very unsustainable way, but for what?

I feel blessed to be able to turn the faucet on and drink fresh, clean water. But how about the many countries that can't do the same? What are we doing for them? Do I deserve my clean, fresh water?

As you can see there are so many questions and so little action going on in my head right now. Sometimes I feel that living a simple life traveling around is the way to go, or maybe I could move to our ranch.

This post came like and explosion of thoughts and is perhaps a little confusing on the writing aspect, but I guess it's possible to take something out of it.

I would love to hear you, what are we doing to preserve nature? What can I do to preserve nature?

Next post will be a crazy and funny story about my first time alone in the wilderness, stay tunned.

~ Love ya all, Arthur.
