My inspirational text for the new week - Those who wait...

Those who wait...

Those who wait, despair. So says the old wisdom, if we have to wait, it is better to do it sitting down. Same as to say that, sometimes, for waiting too much, we end up not leaving the same place, not going anywhere.

I prefer to think about the motto that says those who wait always reach their goal. It’s far more positive. All these sayings lead, in short, to patience. A virtue that everyone should endure. We must wait in order to achieve what we want, with patience (and faith).

But the danger here is the borderline, when patience becomes conformism, or even self-indulgence and we end up never doing anything or going anywhere, after waiting for too long. We end up not leaving our comfort zone and we even stop knowing the meaning of risk, which is the password to achieve what we are waiting for.

We must have the enlightenment to know the difference, to find out the turning point in which we have to get up from the chair where we are seated on waiting and step up the way.

Wait, yes, but grab the opportunity, or make it happen, to follow the path. Because, as the poet said, you make the path while you walk, never sitting down. Waiting.
