Yesterday, an unusually hot september day here in The Netherlands, the damselflies were out there in droves, mating and depositing eggs.
This female looks quite happy about it, even with all the acrobatics and a clasper in her neck:

The male still holds on to the female, not to help her, but to prevent her from mating with another male before having deposited the eggs.
