I was able to capture this macro photo of my eye by using the Smart Remote Control app which allows me to check the focus on a smartphone while facing the camera. I set the lens to its minimum focusing distance and to manual focus, I then moved my head back and forth until the eye was in focus and took the shot. I had to place a strong diffused light source close to my eye to bring out the details in the iris.
