Photo Short #29 - Ground Level View At Santiago Airport.

I took today’s Photo Short at Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport in Santiago, Chile.

At the end of a short break in the Chilean capital, I was returning to Lima, Peru. After a long queue to check in, I made my way to the departure gate. I found my gate at ground level with full length glass walls, giving me the same view as the ground crew out on the tarmac. It’s an unusual view to find at an international airport. Whilst waiting to board my flight, I took photos of the planes being pulled up to the gates by the tugs.

Anybody who’s flown knows how big modern aircraft are, but when you find yourself face to face with one at ground level, you gain a new perspective on just how big they really are. This was a Boeing 787 Dreamliner, I'd love to get this view of a Boeing 747 or an Airbus A380.
