Although they look like real teddy bears, this adorable animal is a marsupial that has nothing to do with bears. The females carry their newborn babies in the marsupial pouch for about six months. When the calf comes out of the bag, it clings to the back of its mother or gut, accompanying it everywhere until it is about a year old.
Koalas live in eastern Australia, where there are more eucalyptus trees. Koalas like these trees so much that they almost never leave them. In addition, thanks to its limbs and opposing fingers are kept comfortably on them. Koalas can sleep up to 18 hours a day.
They typically eat and sleep in the same tree, possibly for as long as a day. On very hot days, a koala may climb down to the coolest part of the tree which is cooler than the surrounding air. The koala hugs the tree to lose heat without panting.
