Today we visited Luosto, in hopes that the boys could drive pedal cars. Sadly they were all broken, and the hotel receptionist said they'd be out of order for a good week or so.
Anyway, we got some good reindeer shots. (I'll post Leo's photos later, he got some good ones on his own DSLR. I think he's about half-way post processing them.)
Reindeer fawn
There were many reindeer resting at the hotel Luosto grounds.
...the same reindeer fawn...
Some of them were quite young. :)
...and another fawn, and her mother. Milk tastes good I gather.
Aarnilampi
After leaving Luosto, where we had a nice lunch, we checked out the beach at Aarnilampi. It was a pretty nice sandy beach, and we decided we might come there for a swim later. Although...
Hiding from the horseflies
Miro didn't quite love the horseflies (Tabanus bovinus) that were quite plentiful everywhere today, even at the beach.
Naava nature museum, checking out the age of stones.
After we had had enough of the horseflies, we decided to civilize ourselves and go to the museum. Gladly there was no entry fee. It was plenty of fun for the boys.

What's here?
I ended up buying them some plushy fishes (a northern pike, and a brown trout), and a little something for a Canadian buddy of mine. If you are reading Jeff, I'll be posting a parcel soon!
