WORDS OF OLDER SELF

hourglass-2910951_1920.jpg

We bit the same apple that bonded us,
Sinking in our teeth shaped of hope.
Talking about how we'll make all the money,
Your tongue laced with wild honey.

What are you chasing or getting chased by,
Who do you consider your best ally?

you're heading towards me even though you keep running
I'm coming towards you even though you keep hiding.

Once, twice, Looking for charm,
You've got nothing to lose,
You've got no excuse.

We meet again at our crossroads of self,
The young sojourner becomes wiser.
I look back through the scope of regret,
Thinking how we could have done it better.

A silent cry on the horizon of time,
The older-self calls for me.
He sends an echo that rings in mind,
Live and learn you are still walking towards me.
