As the Night Sleeps, a poem (original)

The ocean calms to the voice of the night

Little fishes sighs the wonders of God's sight
The earth may not stop to stare at the virgin's bride
But its ray stretches to soothe the heartbroken tide

Have you ever wondered why the moon held its sway?
As the dreamy-eyed jackal hunts its lovely prey
Have you ever heard the moans of a lost turtledove?
Searching the rain forest for its mother's oblivious love

Will you ever sit still and stare at the sky?
And see the haunting memories of your lover bidding goodbye
Or will you throw a million glitter in the air?
Trusting the wanting piece will find its pair

I remember a man of age spoke
Of how his lover's life is choked
In jealousy and adultery it claimed
Of a fierce affection he has never tamed

Life is not always what it seems
From your lost youth to how the winged raven beams
But if you try to open your eyes and see
A fighter unremittingly stands despite his bruised knee
