Poem: The sacred union of dawn

The sacred union of dawn.

I woke up to a tender energy,

enveloping the gentle, waking world around me,

a freshness in the air, an unfolding of the night into day.

Sounds float towards my still sleepy ears,

birds warming up their little voices to praise creation,

water trickling.

What magic is this?

It feels like love.

Love of night for day,

and day for night,

coming together

in this quiet moment.

The sacred union of dawn.
