There was once an angel happy and free
Who traverses the golden streets of eternity.
She has a hop in her walk, strides always with glee,
Sings her heart out and dances quite funnily.
This angel you see is as happy as a bee
Her halo tilted sideways, her wings flutters beautifully.
One day the angel, to the heavenly father said this plea-
"Father would you allow me to bring joy to humanity?"
Thoughtful He became, thinking quite seriously,
For this request came unexpectedly.
From this golden-haired daughter no less, whom he adores personally,
He looked her way and saw blue eyes, oh so heavenly!
Expectantly looking back at Him, her Cupid bows lips, upturned
Her smile is simply breath-taking, angelic is apt a word.
The Father said, "If this is your heart's desire then I'll allow it. Go spread happiness, the world needs it."
The wondrous angel jumped with gladness,
Hands clasped in front, she said to His Highness,
"Heavenly Father thank you for your blessing, I won't waste any moment 'tis I promise!"
Her journey was surprisingly swift
Passed the stars and the moons and the comets, it was quick!
As soon as her feet felt the earth below
Mingle with humans she didn't forego!
She saw a man full of anger, from all the cheating and lies
His life is a wonder to those with hunger for pride
This man is a legend, a champion of success
The gold he owns is beyond any man's dream
Yet in his heart an equal weight of burden he carries within.
The angel whispered in this man's ear,
"Let go of your anger, and go on with bliss.
For what is anger, but our own way of inflicting more pain to ourselves anyway?
Forgive, not for other's benefit, but more for yourself actually
Throw away the emotion that's making your heart heavy!
Learn to forgive, and be merry."
The man sighed and said this,
"I'm sorry miss, but things are as should be.
Although what I heard sounded nicely,
Unfortunately this is the only way I know of how to be me.
This is my persona entirely."
The man went his way, and true enough spent the rest of his life
In turmoil, his whole existence in strife.
The angel was sad, yet continued with the search
Of souls who are in need of a lurch.
Thousands she easily found
With hundred different reasons for their frown.
Yet everyone, despite the talks,
Doesn't seem to want the life she hoped.
Defeated, she sat and talked to the Father above,
"Please take me back there, I am worthless on this task!"
She didn't realize tears have been falling
Oh, this is something new, what an odd thing!
She felt a tiny hand on her shoulder
And saw a little boy, barely a toddler.
She listened in wonder when he said this-
"Hush, hush, don't cry. Here I'll share with you my toy car, this gives me lots of fun."
She smiled and glowed, touched. There is hope for humanity.
