Pain

I was inspired to post this poem by @zipporah who shared her pain through her song Kaleidoscope Gray.

After a sleepless night due to pain from Fibromyalgia I penned these words as my own personal cry for mercy.

It shot out from the fall
And it captured us all
Like a net
And we're thrashing about
As we cry let us out
But not yet

Hurting and stinging and burning
Oh, oh, oh, oh, the pain
Searching and singing and yearning
Oh, oh, oh, oh, His name

And it pounds in its stake
As its claim overtakes
All our lives
And it sets up domain
Slowly building its reign
Feel it rise

Numbing, and throbbing and gnawing
Oh, oh, oh, oh, the pain
Humming, and sobbing and awing
Oh, oh, oh, oh, His name

So we struggle and fight
Toss and turn in the night
Try to stand
As the waves overwhelm us
He's reaching out for us
Take his hand

Confusing, frustrating, and crushing
Oh, oh, oh, oh, the pain
Amusing, delighting, and gushing
Oh, oh, oh, oh, His name.
