Runaway Rhymes 4: 1 Million Rainbows In Waiting (EXAMPLE ENTRY)

This is my example entry for the Runaway Rhymes 4 competition, where I am looking for rhyming poems that have the word rainbow in them somewhere. You can read how to enter here: RUNAWAY RHYMES 4 COMPETITION

I wrote this almost 7 years ago when I was pregnant with my eldest.

This is a painting (from a photo) I got commissioned of her when she was just a few hours old.

Probably in hindsight I should rename it a googol of Rainbows in Waiting as every night we say I love you to a googol and back, but I don't know it doesn't have the same appeal somehow. What do you think?

1 Million Rainbows in Waiting

We must be all fingers and thumbs to you
As we prod and probe you as we do.
But you have to know that we are here,
To protect you from the world, my dear.

From the first wriggle in the womb,
When you come out with a BOOM,
And everyday until the end of time
Our love for you will shine and shine.

You have to feel that love flow
From inside and out as you grow.
The waves of pure emotion
Cover you like a vast ocean.

You are a million rainbows in waiting
As the love around you is eminating.
All the possibilities and dreams
Surrounded by stars and moonbeams.

Keep on writing and inspiring
