Original Story Poem
Spread the Love
We all go on adventures sometimes.
Let these brief words take you on one.
Antique Jewelry Box
On a fine evening I was out for a walk
and stopped randomly by an antique shop.
I went inside and browsed all around,
at the glassware, old sets, and jewelry.
There laid some earrings that dangled,
and sparkled like diamonds so bright.
The lobster earrings were so original,
from Newfoundland they came to be here.
I made my way to pay for the earrings,
when the owner drew my attention.
She had grabbed a neat little jewelry box,
and said, "No one's ever seen this one before!"
Three drawers on the left, swing drawer for rings,
and on the right side the neatest little thing.
Hang the earrings from the carousel and wind it up,
around go all the earrings to a gleefully happy song.
It had some wear and tear around the edges,
but still had its' character and musical charm.
I jumped at the chance to buy the earrings,
and the jewelry case for them to call home.
I'm pretty sure this little gift is perfect,
and just what my dear girlfriend needed.
