Friendship - An original poem

This is a simple poem I wrote many years ago.

FRIENDSHIP

The secret to happiness as it now can be told
Lies not in the riches of rubies and gold
But deep in the heart where friends are made true
Especially good ones, like I have in you
Someone who picks you up when you fall
Someone who listens whenever you call
Someone who lends a willing hand
Someone who takes the silent stand
A friend never judges they only accept
And when you confide, your secrets are kept
They know your weaknesses but point out your strengths
And when you're in trouble, they go to great lengths
This is an ode to all the great friends
Who come into our lives and stay til the end
