MINA'S EULOGY - POEM

Goodbye my dear angel, don’t look back!

It took some time to regain your wings,

your last years were real nightmare,

you have been through too many things.

It’s too late now to change your path

or blame the saints for such mistakes,

for all the forks put on your path;

nothing will erase the past or wipe its marks.

Those scars were meant to stay in place

as a reminder of the war you fought

between the worlds that you

were trapped and forced to live in.

Your last months on this earth

were worse than a quick descent

into the burning depths of hell,

it was worse than giving birth.

Despite all that, you never said a word

or fought back for your life

which was hanging by a thread

you wanted to have cut.

Don’t know how you coped with

the pain and burning for so long

without a touch of morphine,

suffered in silence as a dog.

Now that you’re gone, I finally

understand why you chose to stay

and not complain about the delay;

it was for your kids and not yourself.

Your curly hair, your perfect smile

the dimples on your cheeks, your warm laughter

is all that’s left once you passed away,

a memory that I will forever cherish .
