"*shy smile*" | Poems, 014

* shy smile *

Her eyes, her nose, her fingertips,
Her sexy, sultry, swaying hips,
All were part of love's design,
To lure this helpless heart of mine.

Her brightly burning cheeks, ablush,
As we shared our taboo love, hush-hush,
All this indeed delivered me,
But what, really, was the key?

It was her sorrow, her tragic tears,
Her trust when confiding in me her fears,
It was the way she held onto my hand,
As I travelled a dark and dangerous land.

It was her heart and shining mind,
But most of all, it was her smile.

The next few poems will be about a certain wild online romance I had between my first and second long-term relationships. I think back to this time and smile at how crazy in-love I thought I was.

And I'll be forever grateful to her because the "dark and dangerous land" was real, and she helped me through it. She actually gave me courage to jump out of it, too.

What made it exciting though, was that it was taboo indeed. We both knew that we shouldn't really have been doing what we were doing. Why? ... It's a secret =)
