Wintery weather

windy and bitter

the shrill nipping air

bites the lungs

and gnaws at your skin

chilled to the bone

twisted summer twin

though beautiful

like most things that are

it has a thorn

the cold rose of the north

blankets of ice

suffice for the rest

a wonderland that nature does best.
