Invasion - Poetry

Invasion

To quell a tide of soul's unrest
Seek the calm of mind's deep paths.

Flee fear, cloaked in surprise,
Or terror slithering in the night.

You beat her to serpentine death,
Yet, she rears her monstrous head.
Swarms of kind rise up to follow,
For they lust for your tomorrows.

Don't let them steal those golden moments,
Or consume your precious days.

Give her nothing she can feed on,
Leave her slain by ebony highways.

Move your heart in new directions,
Disable circuits in reflection.

Is it simply just a choice?
In this world have you a voice?

All you do, and all you know,
Can evade an undertow.

Leave nothing to pure chance,
There's a wound that you may lance.

Give it all, or give it naught
To bear this precarious onslaught.
