Chained Limbs | Whooshwrite Poetry Prompt, Week One: Dragon | My Entry

Chained Limbs

Held hostage
in a damp room
underground.

Icy chains
restrict
my massive limbs -
     my nostrils flare.

Through the window
I watch you climbing
the hill:
     your red shoes brighter
     than my fiery heart
     which you hold
     triumphantly in your hands.

This poem was an entry to the first ever Whooshwrite Poetry Prompt. The poem had to be written in two minutes (I wrote 90% of it, cheated a little bit). The full rules are found on the Whooshwrite Forum . If you are interested, you should get out of your writer's block and post the poem on the forum as well! Hope to see you there.

P.S. Whooshwrite is a great community for poets and we share great tips and information with one another. Consider registering for free today!
