Poetry Dice Challenge: 3000 Week #2 | Entry #2 - Bulletproof Heart

^

Someone hurt you before and now you cower
Inside yourself, you built the Dead's monument
That ugly alien face that stays on every hour
I want to tear it away with every movement

But listen, you're not dead yet
Stop living inside your empty home
Just let your heart forgive and forget
Stop living life in a monochrome

Love, I'll set your heart on fire
I'll dance with you in the middle of the night
Don't be afraid to let your heart desire
Look into my eyes as the moon shines bright

If you let me, I'll do my best
To turn that frown upside down
Let emotions swim, once again, inside your chest
Smile, love, I won't let you down

I'll break down that pyramid you're in
You don't belong in that tomb
Stop fighting and shed the armor from your skin
I promise to chase away the shadow of doom

So hold on to my hand tight
As we swim through the fires of love
With the moon as our witness tonight
We'll build a new home from our love
