Steemit has undoubtedly attracted many creative and free thinkers to its community.  I'm positive that each and every one of us have experienced some manner of ridicule for their thoughts from the hasty to judge masses.  

This poem is dedicated to all of you!  

My Steemit poetry slam #3 Acrostic challenge is titled: Resting on the Laurels of the Wise

Resting on the Laurels of the Wise     

Fools rush hastily to judgment 

Reaping rewards of low hanging fruit  

Ecstatic with glee 

Exuberant with gloating pride

   

Insinuating supremacy in intellect 

Nervousness in their resolve never showing    

Though the wise utter not a counter point 

His logical and thoughtful argument  

Only doomed to fall on the deaf ears of the woefully proud 

Undeterred by the loud and obnoxious ritual of social shaming 

Given his calm and rational mind 

He will persevere and even prosper in the face of strife 

Though the ignorant and foolish are destined to muddle through life
