Poetry Slam Challenge 4: Burn It Down

This is my entry for the fourth Poetry Slam Challenge, being organised by @prufarchy. Details can be found here (Link). The only rule for this fourth challenge is the poem must be a loop: that is the word that ends each sentence must be the word that starts the next (within stanza's).

Burn It Down

From dust to dust it has been built up

Up from the ashes of a seedling rebuilt

Rebuilt on the wishes of a lingering hope

Hope stored in cages left over from guilt

Life comes in stages, each one of them lived

Lived with such passion as the journey progressed

Progressed with such meaning as you search for the end

End of the lingering sense of regret

Created for reasons to express yesterday

Yesterday held the sorrow of a thousand today's

Today's hope does nurture to grow out and begin

Begin when on apex you feel the sun's rays

What's built up will whither, all life has it's turn

Turn and embrace the uncertain within

Within the space that is left will a new life be born

Born to step out, fear not and begin

Burn it down, let it out, scream to the Gods

Gods that hide knowing your want to be heard

Heard for the voice that is growing inside

Inside you that lingers the most beautiful word
