This article will touch on past & present Globalization in order to justify a future without Corporate control, and how it can be achieved through Decentralized Networking.
Globalization and its ugly Modern history:
Today we see a trend in Globalization from our leading Governments; from regime changes to corporate legislation. As some of us know that trend has been going on for over a century now with Nations uniting under "diplomatic" contractual agreements to better their security in the future. What some of you may not know is that behind a lot of these contractual agreements come dirty hidden clauses that have benefited one Nation or Party over another. This my friends is what I call, "International Feudalism".
Fueled by Lobbyists in today's Political world, International Feudalism is exactly as the words suggest; International Governments persuading other National Governments through power, to influence and control the correlation between Nations and their Markets. Now that may sound like a conspiracy theory to some, but the proof is quite clear.
Since the end of World War 2 with the creation of the United Nations, and before that with the "League of Nations" (sounds like a group of Villains), the world has seen a mass adoption of Globalized Politics and Globalized Economic systems. The political decisions since then have been somewhat questionable.
We've seen whole Nations go to war over Political scandals, false Media publications, fascist Political designs, Corporate interests, Religious beliefs, and usually all in the name of ideologues that we call Leaders. The outcome of these wars has been mostly, if not completely, economically beneficial to those who perpetrated them; namely the United States and the European Union.
We could go further back in history to prove this point, but we'd be here all day.
With the increasing power of Political Oligarchies like the United Nations, it's becomes harder and harder for the working class citizens that fuel our countries and their economies to have a say in the way that their Nations behave. This is why I am writing this article and what follows is a potential solution to the inequality between the ruling class and the working class.
A Revolution through Decentralization:
In the last decade we've seen the creation of Decentralized Networking via the Internet. These Decentralized Networks have grown exponentially since the creation of Bitcoin.
Now, my knowledge on the history of these Networks is slim compared to those who've been involved since the beginning, however I do understand it more than most; especially those whom still haven't heard of the term "Blockchain."
What I do know, is that the creation of a "permissionless" system, and the development of a somewhat religiously devoted community to carry it, has without a doubt shaken the chessboard on which Political superpowers play. Foreign exchange markets for example have lost a lot of would-be Venture Capitalists to this alternative market. In turn, Blockchain technology has weakened the Global Economy a little, siphoning over $12 billion from a Quadrillion dollar market. And it's still early days.
Where is this going, you might ask. Well, as someone who's spent the last 6 years of his life trying to understand the Political agendas behind shifty political regimes and in the end has found himself in disdain towards Government leaders even more so, I see Decentralized Networks as a spark of hope. With Government being centralized, no one other than those in the center have a say. Decentralization on the other hand... well... you get the point.
This brings me to my conclusion on how Decentralization is the future for Globalization.
Globalization through Decentralization:
I was skeptical, as with many others that lost out on the most lucrative investment in modern history, when first hearing about a Decentralized Economic System. Now that I know a bit more about the technology and network behind it, it's become very clear to me that this is only the beginning in the use of Blockchains. It's also sparked a few ideas of mine.
One of these brilliant ideas I've had whilst burning out my retinas on the internet, is a Decentralized Tax System. Now "what's that" you ask? Let me explain little Billy:
- A Decentralized Tax System is a Tax System where National and International proposals are made and Tax Payer dollars are used to fund those proposals; crowdfunding.
- Tax Payers choose which proposals they want to fund
- Tax Payer dollars are earned and spent via the blockchain
- Tax Payers may deposit more funds into their account to fund projects that he/she feels most passionate about.
- Governments would no longer have the power to control what a Society spends their money on ultimately creating self-governance
- People are rewarded for successful proposals
This would mean that the people, not just the ruling class, would be allowed to propose and push forward legislation that benefits each and every one of us. We're already seeing this being partially implemented here on a Social level, with Steemit benefiting posts that resonate with the Community as a whole rather than being pushed by a single entity or party. Adopt that on a mass scale and the rest is gravy.
Now this is only an idea, and like any other brain fart, it's not exactly sound. Like I've said in my earliest post, I'm self-taught so I only know so much. This is also only touching on content that could fill a whole peer researched paper. In saying that, the main problem that this kind of system faces is that new infrastructure would have to be implemented to ensure that: proposals are fulfilled; that fair and equal tax is paid; that the Blockchain cannot be tampered with; and that everyone has access to the blockchain via some sort of personal device.
Conclusion:
In conclusion, if something like this were to be implemented it could be used on a Global scale to ensure that the Global community as a whole has a say on what Earth does next. This idea is extremely dangerous to the Imperialist Corporate agenda that currently governs our world (Did you know most Monarchies are Corporations on paper? Probably not). The future of the Mainstream is swayed toward a Corporatocracy, and I'd rather die before I let that happen.
Please comment your thoughts regarding what I'd like to consider a brilliant Critical theory for the 21st Century, and don't hesitate to build on this idea and make it your own. The potential for a Decentralized Taxation/Voting system is infinite!
