P.O.P Contest, my entry! Christmas card, step-by-step inside.

Hello my dear friends, followers and guests of my blog!

Christmas and New Year night is approaching, and everything around is transformed, becoming magical and kind. And again comes the feeling that something good is about to happen. We again expect that our desires will be fulfilled very soon, and all the sorrows will pass and not return.
I really love this time. This is the most positive time of the year. And, of course, this is the best reason to take part in a positive pop contest!
And here is my work for this contest. This is a greeting card that carries the atmosphere of a magical holiday in every home!

A step-by-step process

We begin with the fact that on a white sheet wax (or white wax crayon) I draw the basis of spruce branches. This will be the part that is covered with snow.
I tried to take a picture of this stage, but white on white is not very visible, only at an angle.
It looks like this:

To make it easier to navigate on a white sheet with a pattern, I added green strokes in the direction of the Christmas-tree needles with a green wax crayon

Next I take a brush and watercolors. The tip of the brush, at right angles, draws the needles of our herringbone.

When the light green needles are drawn, turn to the darker:

Our Christmas tree is getting fuzzy and fluffy!

When all the needles are painted, I add twigs with brown paint. This will give branches a more explicit direction.

Now I plan future toys :

Balls are interesting to paint with "wet" technique. Watercolor paint itself will make a wonderful magic infusions

Let's start painting the background.
