Portrait Photo Contest: Mompox People - Photographic series about the Colombian Caribbean

Santa Cruz de Mompox is a small city located in the departmento de Bolívar in Colombia. It was founded around 1540, and due to the great conservation that its Historic Downtown presents, Mompox was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1995.

But beyond its architectural beauty, which I will show in future posts, Mompox stands out for the simplicity and the hamability of its inhabitants. One of the main economic activities of Mompox is tourism, which has brought as a consequence that its inhabitants are very hospitable and helpful people with visitors.

The portrait that I show you next is a man who had a pleasant conversation with me while I photographed the old streets and houses of Mompox.
