@misterengagement and ENGAGE are back to support engagement on Steem

Thanks to @contrabourdon of Witness @untersatz, the ENGAGE token can again be issued by accounts holding 1000 or more ENGAGE in their Steem-Engine wallet.

All in all, I think many that are looking long on Steem are fairly happy with the most recent hard fork and the fallout from the EIP. However, one potential negative has been the lack of reward being distributed to top level post commentary.

With the value of a comment needing to surpass around 2/2.5 cents, and this requiring almost a 100% vote from an account holding 5000 SP to escape 'dust', along with the EIP boosting to curation rewards when applied to comments(posts) exceeding this figure, there has been a noticeable reduction in votes placed on comments.

I read not long ago that quality, or interesting, posts have fallen, but I'm not convinced this is true and see many each day that are complimented with some excellent, well-thought out comments. In some cases these are rewarded, and I've been trying to do so with my Tribe alts, but I think that with communities attracting attention, these posts would look even better with the 'best' comments sitting at the top of the feed.

As stated, @misterengagement was brought back to life yesterday and has been initially loaded up with 5000 ENGAGE. If you have 1000 ENGAGE or more in your SE wallet (just over 50 accounts at present) you can issue up to 50 ENGAGE in 1 hit, as per the example below.

A little ENGAGE is nice, but what would be better is a boost to the comment in STEEM to both reward the commentator, and potentially move their comment up the list of comments in the post. The plan then is for me to delegate @misterenagement some Steem Power, potentially trail the vote, and see who else would like to do the same - either manually or automatically.

Fortunately, @misterengagement has a couple of big fish friends who are looking out for quality comments to reward, especially if they are made within their favourite communities. There will hopefully be more on that in the comments, and so if you have #skimmed the post, be on the look out :)

ENGAGE holders are mostly those who have been issued the token for their engagement on Steem over the past year. The Engagement League and a selection of other posts pulling data from @steemsql have guided me in issuing the token to those that make an effort to connect and communicate or grease the chain, if you like. I am eternally hopeful that these accounts will issue the token (and potential follow on votes) in the right way and not abuse the system. However, accounts can be blocked from calling the account if need be.

Alright, more information to follow in the comments (clues in the tags).

And thanks again to @contrabourdon (Witness @untersatz) for reviving @misterengagement.

Cheers

Asher
