MyPictureDay Submission | Mugoe (Planting Rice)

My hometown has a distance of about 135 Kilometers from where I live now, takes about 3 hours to get to the countryside. In this journey, various beautiful landscapes adorn me, especially about the life of the village community in the morning.

The two men sprinkled fertilizer on the seeds of the planted rice.

When I almost got to my village, we called it with Blang Raya (Large rice fields), I see hundreds of people filling their fields to grow rice, so various activities of citizens when planting this rice I see.

Rice planting in this place is done by citizens one year for two times, usually in the rainy season, and another in the wrong season, meaning they expect rain to fall in another season.

The images I upload are representative of the various community activities in this place when planting rice.

  • A woman is pulling plastic paper to circle the rice seed to avoid the attack of rats that eat rice seeds. While the man was repairing the hijackers machines.

  • A group of women moved rice seeds to be planted in rice fields. This process is done simultaneously with planting, this is done so that the seeds that have been in the drag does not wither.

  • After all the seeds unplug and collected, the soil is reconstructed, and then replanted neatly.
