This week's Splinterlands battle challenge theme is Naga Windmaster.
Last night I had the Water Splinter for my daily quest and had an opportunity to play the Naga Windmaster. I played against @citrus-soap
The battle can be found here
Rule was Fog of War
With a 37 mana cap
Fog of War: Means that monsters loose the sneak and snipe abilities.
Summoner Selection:
In this battle I choose Alric over Bortus because I wanted to increase my magical attack by 1 and did not need to deacrease my opponents magical attack.
Monster Selection
1rst Position: I choose the Chain Golem because it is my favorite tank. I wanted the 3 melee from the Chain Golem instead of using Lord A as a tank. I like the void and shield abilities of the Chain golem. Void is good for a tank because it subtracts roughly half the magic damage when being attacked and the shield subtracts half the melee and/or half the ranged damage.
2nd position: I used my electric for this position because it has reach and the highest health with reach of all the available cards, I contimplated using medusa but decided I wanted melee over magic for my #2 monster.
3rd position: I put Water Elemental in this position because it has heal. I like using the water elemental in the 2 or 3rd position because of heal, it makes a great backup tank and also because of self heal it's great to be targeted by snipes(although there was no snipe in this rule). I also like the 3 ranged it's pretty effective for 5 mana
4th Position:
I choose the Naga Windmaster for position 4 because of the headwinds ability. I like the headwinds ability because it decreases enemy ranged by 1.
5th Position:
I choose Ruler of the Seas for this position because it has blast and swiftness. The blast is awesome because it means 2 monsters on my opponents team will take damage every time the ruler attacks. Swiftness is also a nice ability because it makes all of my monsters faster which means they attack sooner. I also like the base 3 magic attack of ruler, when combined with the magic buff from Alric it gives me a 4 magic attack 😁
6th Position
I picked the Sea Genie to go last on accident. I really should have put him before the ruler of the seas but this is where he ended up. I like his base 2 magic attack, with alrics magic buff he ends up with 3 magic attack.
Conclusion:
My strategy worked very well for this battle. As we can see none of my monsters died and we had a pretty quick match, only 3 rounds long.
