I read about the post Utopian Bot Update: Major changes, it mentioned :
Utopian Bot is jealous, she doesn't like other bots.
So far, here is the list of bots she doesn't like to see.
My understanding was that Utopian Bot will automatically decrease its voting power to a post that was voted by one of those bots in Utopian Bot’s list. I think it’s fair if author use some booster bots like minnowsupport, randowhale, to increase his post’s reward, then Utopian bot decreases its VP, as author actively involved such bots, he had a choice. He could choose not to get help from such bots and let Utopian bot gives him better vote.
However, some bots were created to automatically vote authors they put in their own list. In this case, those authors don’t actually have a choice. Under such circumstances, it is not fair to the author, who is contributing to Utopian, to get a lower vote from Utopian bot.
As indicated in the post, @stoodkev admitted that it is difficult for the bot to judge “Quality” of a post. Then why bother to do such thing if you know you’re not going to do a good job at the very beginning. Why don’t you leave it to someone who for sure do bette than you?
Since for each post in Utopian, a moderator will read and approve it first before the bot vote it. Why doesn’t the bot leave the quality part to the moderator?
Therefore, my suggestion to Utopian bot is:
to adjust voting power based on moderator’s comment to a post. When a moderator read and approve a post, he will leave a comment to the post. In this comment, he can put some keyword for the bot to take into consideration how much voting power should be used.
I hope that this suggestion can help Utopian bot improve its performance and fairness to all contributors.
