Translation & Calling Out For Translators - Short Steps Tutorial to Mobile Music Player

Open Source Project: Mobile Music Player

Last night, I started translating the Open Source Project: Mobile Music Player. Music is my expertise and I want to translate these music apps so that the apps can be used by the Chinese people.

I notice that I am the first person to translate this app as no other languages have been translated yet. So in this post, I will show you proof of the translation done and also to call out for more translators as many languages are available for us to translate. I will provide a short tutorial so that you can get started.

A. Link Proof of My Translation

The blue line there is now in 100% meaning that the Chinese Simplified translation is completely finished.

Time Line of Translation

I always like to begin the translation one day, and then go back to finish it the next day.

My Dashboard shows I have done the Chinese Simplified for this Mobile Music Player

As you can see from this screen shot, Only one translation is done at this moment.
Only Chinese Simplified is done.

B. Calling Out For More Translators

Take a look at the following screen shot, this app is in need of Translators. Lots of translation is needed. So if you are fluent in your native language, come and join us to contribute to Open Source Project.

Short Tutorial To Invite Translators to Come in

I will write a short tutorial to invite more translators to come in so that you can understand that it is not difficult to translate.

Step 1: Process of Translation

When I began the blue line is actually at 0%.

But I forgot to print screen in the beginning and only remembered after I started the translation so that's why you see 5% already done in the following print screen.

-- You need to click on the left hand side - string.xml
-- it will then take you to the Translation pages.

Step 2: 3 Rounds of 7 Pages Translation

Here is the 1st Round of the 7 Pages that Need Translation

music2.jpg

-- There are 7 Pages in the first round
-- this page pops up and will take you to Page 1 of 7
-- You continue translate from one line to the next until you get to Page 7.

After you finish the 1st Round, you will get this Result

Step 3: 2nd Round of Translation

music4.jpg

-- You need to click on the link to get to the 2nd round of 7 Pages Translation
-- Go through the 7 Pages
-- Some are repeated, so you actually translate only 2 pages

Move on to 3rd Round of 7 Pages

music5.jpg

-- When you finish the 2nd round, the translation is not finished yet
-- You need to continue to move on to the 3rd Round of 7 Pages.

When you finish 3 Rounds of Translation, then it is 100% Complete

This app is created only this year.

So let's help to get this app to move forward globally as we get this app to be translated to different languages all over the world.

Thank you for your attention,
Rosa
