Considerations
A few days ago an engineer friend of mine sent me a screenshot of some Istat data regarding the energy classes of Italian homes.
This data is not very up to date and should date back to 2022, so it could show a worse situation than the current one, but not very far from today's.
The first thing I notice from these data is the fact that houses in A1,A2,A3 and A4 do not exceed 5% of Italian homes.
The other fact that makes me think a lot is the fact that in Italy class F and class G homes, i.e. the worst, correspond to 61% of homes.
The European directives regarding the energy efficiency of real estate are aimed at all 27 countries of the European Union.
In an article published in February in Il Sole 24 Ore it is described that at a national level 75% of homes belong to the least efficient energy classes. The share of class A houses is around 12%.
Conclusions
The Italian urban landscape mostly features homes with a very low energy class. Certainly for Italy, achieving certain objectives regarding energy efficiency will not be an easy task. Furthermore, given the quantity of energy-intensive houses, it is very likely that in Italy it will take several years to improve this aspect, perhaps about ten years.

Considerazioni
Qualche giorno fa un ingegnere mio amico mi ha girato uno screenshot di alcuni dati Istat a riguardo delle classi energetiche delle abitazioni italiane.
Questi dati non sono aggiornatissimi e dovrebbero risalire al 2022, quindi potrebbero mostrare una situazione peggiore di quella attuale, ma non molto lontana da quella di oggi.
La prima cosa che noto da questi dati e il fatto che le case in classe A1, A2, A3 e A4 non superano il 5% delle abitazioni italiane.
L’altro dato che mi fa pensare tantissimo è il fatto che in Italia le abitazioni in classe F ed in classe G, cioè le peggiori, corrispondono al 61% delle abitazioni.
Le direttive europee a riguardo dell’efficientamento energetico del patrimonio immobiliare sono dirette a tutti i 27 paesi dell’Unione Europea.
In un articolo uscito a febbraio sul sole 24 ore si descrive che a livello nazionale il 75% delle abitazioni appartiene alle classi energetiche meno efficienti. La quota invece delle case in classe A è data intorno al 12%.
Conclusioni
Il panorama urbanistico italiano presenta per la maggior parte abitazioni con una classe energetica molto bassa. Sicuramente per l’Italia raggiungere certi obiettivi a riguardo dell’efficientamento energetico non sarà un’impresa facile. Inoltre vista la quantità di case energivore è molto probabile che in Italia ci vorranno diversi anni per migliorare questo aspetto, forse una decina di anni.
