Making a great post, that would capture lots of votes

What is a downshifter-Why do we downshift-How do we downshift-.png

Today I will talk about making a great post that would stand out and get more votes.

What we are struggling for as Steemit posters are:

  • How genuine our articles are.
  • Making sure that the post is about something interesting.
  • The information shared in it has not been mentioned before on other posts.

To do this the right way I suggest using AskSteem, it is the first Steemit search engine.
I highly recommend using it if you are searching for:
  • Whether a specific subject has been mentioned on Steemit before or not.
  • A post by someone.
  • A Steemit user.

This is a link to a post by the lead developer of AskSteem, explaining the new features:

It is not arrange depending on any criteria (e.g. date of posting, number of upvotes, number of comments...etc.) I would really love to see that in the near future.

Is this enough to make a great post?

To accomplish our goal, we can do the following:

1- Adding photos to your post is extremely essential. By statistics, a good visual post attracts more viewers, hence more votes.

What if you no photos to post? Well, there are many sites that offer free photos for you to use, like the following:
Pixabay, PublicDomainArchive, Pexels, UnSplash, StockSnap, FreeImages, PublicPhoto, 4FreePhotos, FreePik, PublicDomainPictures, MorgueFile, FreeDigitalPhotos, PublicDomainPhotos, DreamsTime, FreeImagez, EveryStockPhoto, ThinkStockPhotos, StockFreeImages.

Animated free photos, like the following:
Giphy, Tenor,GifPin(on this one, don't forget to press the small button that says "GIF".), Imgur.

Creating your own:
a- Your own designs: there are sites that feature a web app to create your own design with free/your own photos, like the following:
Canva, Snappa, GetStencil.
These sites are very useful even for those who have their own pictures.
Because adding images to your post is really about adding value to it. So why not add value and at the same time keep your original work intact.
b- And there are also sites that help you create your own animated pictures, like the following:
Giphy, EzGIF

2- Make your post engaging, as to lead a conversation. To get feedback on the comments.

And my personal favorite
3- Avoid extremely long posts. I never complete reading those. One should make it short and to the point.

That's it. I want to hear from you what did I miss, in the comment.

I hope this post was useful to you. And remember Steemit is about team work, so if you upvoted a good post: you and the author will reach your goal.

Happy Steeming
