The importance of Title in a post in order for it to be up voted is extremely important. Not knowing anything about Steemit, there is the school of hard knocks, so hopefully this will help you.

The correct title of your post is a great percentage of what will garner votes. I learned this from @adelja who adds a dash to her posts in the title with the first tag - verse.

People know that they will be looking at verse in her posts. Verse is poetry. There is no surprise about what they are about to read. So, in many ways it is good to put a dash after the main title with the first correctly placed tag.

Your title should indicate just what the post is about and be as short as possible. The post should not be misleading at all. Do not mislead your readers. Make your title concise and to the point and you will get up voted.

A title must grab attention. Just like a newspaper or a television news story where the word "HEADLINE" is used in place of the word title in a phrase. The title must grab the attention of the viewer.

Spin the title around in your head. Look at the title like other people might see it. Does your title state what your post is about? Are there different words you could use? Think of several different titles. Does your title need a dash with the main hash tag?

The Movie Industry spends a fortune to title the name of a motion picture. The Motion Picture Industry spends money of focus groups to evaluate the appeal of the name of the title of a movie. The difference in naming a movie incorrectly is billions in revenue for a major motion picture. The correct title is the difference between an Academy Award. On Steemit, the title of your post is important.

Why isn't this title good? No one in this generation remembers the Grapes of Wrath© by John Steinbeck, they live in it but have no knowledge of it. To use this title, was a kill vote post. Why do it? Why should you?

We all learn by our mistakes. This post is a learning and remembering tool. So give your posts a proper title with the shortest possible attention grabbing set of words and who knows? The Steemit logo will rotate ninety degrees to the right in a clockwise direction for you if you get your title correct. That is up-votes and that is income.
