I'll say it straight. I am a procrastinator. Given a good excuse, I'd rather take it easy than handle the problem at hand.
A button came undone? That is fine. I can wear other shirts or pants.
The front tyres are worn? Eh - they're probably fine for a while longer.
A project is due in 3 months? I'll get to it - once I'm done posting on Steemit.

I still remember myself half-passed-out on the mattress on the floor of the office where I'd been camped, hammering away at a keyboard until the energy drinks stopped having the desired effect. 30 minutes or so of unconsciousness proved a whole lot more restful (I have a 'very' supportive friend who was there to wake me).
That was eight years ago.

A lot of people tend to put pressing things on the back-burner.
It is a bad habit that is subject to festering and escalation.
Historic events have been swayed to procrastination!
Some even put other people on the back-burner.
It is a habit that can result in molehills joining to become a mountain of one's own creation.

It is said that 'prevention is better than cure' and this applies here as well as in any other area of life. One lesson that I learnt was that it pays to take a step towards a journey at every opportunity. It ultimately means that the journey to be traveled will one day be short enough to travel in a day.
And the best time to take that step is at the first opportunity of every day - when one is bright and fresh. A mountain of emails? Tackle a number of them first thing. Have an awkward phone call to make? Do it early before both you and the other person have cause to feel tired and grouchy.
Do you feel it a challenge to post a great post? Settle for a good post - and just post 'something'.
Its nice to have something to show for yourself - so grab the moment.
Get stuff done!
